Fortress Stabilization Case Study

Residential Block Wall Shear

This hillside home was being completely renovated when it was discovered that three different walls were experiencing significant inward deflection. One wall was also suffering from 1-1.5" of bottom shear.

The contractor used a fast set high compression grout to fill in the void caused by the shear. This process helps reestablish the compression strength of the wall that was lost by the shear and allows for proper installation of the InvisiBeam® bottom plate anchor.

In total over 20 InvisiBeam® straps were installed on the three walls. All cracks were filled with Xtreme epoxy to prevent future "hinging" of the wall and the homeowner is now able to enjoy the confidence of a Composite Reinforced Foundation backed by the Fortress Lifetime Warranty.
