Fortress Stabilization Case Study

Residential Block Wall Shear Repair and Reinforcement

Reinforcing Sheared and Bowing Block Walls with InvisiBeam® for Lasting Structural Stability

The Challenge

During a full renovation of a hillside home, contractors discovered three foundation walls with significant inward deflection, and one wall exhibiting 1 to 1.5 inches of bottom shear movement. Left unaddressed, these issues could have compromised the structural integrity of the entire home.

The Solution

The contractor applied a fast-set high compression grout to fill the void created by shear movement, restoring the wall’s lost compression strength and ensuring a solid base for the InvisiBeam® bottom plate anchors. Over 20 InvisiBeam® carbon fiber straps were then installed across the three walls to permanently stabilize and reinforce them. Finally, Xtreme epoxy was injected to fill existing cracks, preventing future “hinging” or movement along fracture lines.

The Outcome

The foundation walls were fully stabilized, creating a Composite Reinforced Foundation that will remain strong for decades. Backed by the Fortress Lifetime Warranty, the homeowner now enjoys complete peace of mind, knowing their renovated home is protected by the industry’s leading wall reinforcement system.

Why It Matters

Fortress InvisiBeam® offers ICC-certified, non-corrosive structural reinforcement with true anchoring capability—outperforming steel beams and other carbon fiber systems. It’s the ideal solution for contractors tackling severe deflection or shear in block and concrete walls during renovations or structural upgrades.
