Fortress Stabilization Case Study
Factory-to-Hotel Conversion Reinforcement with Fortress ReGrid®
Reinforcing Historic Industrial Floors for Modern Hotel Use with Fortress ReGrid®
The Challenge
A 1926 industrial building undergoing conversion into a hotel required floor reinforcement to support the increased load demands of hotel occupancy and dining facilities. The existing floors needed a strong, reliable reinforcement system that could be installed efficiently without extensive downtime.
The Solution
Fortress ReGrid® carbon Kevlar® straps were selected and installed over 4,000 feet across spans averaging 33 feet each. Installation was efficient, with each span taking less than 25 minutes on average. To meet engineer requirements, “puck” testing was performed on the Xtreme 4000 epoxy to verify the bond strength between the straps and concrete.
The Outcome
The floors were successfully reinforced, providing the necessary structural capacity for hotel use while preserving the historic building. The tested epoxy bond ensured the straps performed to specification, giving engineers and owners confidence in the long-term integrity of the floor system.
Why It Matters
Fortress ReGrid® offers a fast, non-invasive, and high-strength reinforcement solution ideal for repurposing older buildings. Its carbon Kevlar® construction and engineered bonding deliver superior performance that meets modern load requirements without costly structural replacements.
